Valentines Day Ideas

It’s the season of love once again. I thought I’d share some Valentines day ideas of my own, not only for couples but for everyone. When I was single, I enjoyed Valentines day with family and friends. I think it is not only for lovers. When I got into a relationship with my now-husband (yiheee lol), his efforts and various ideas on taking me out on dates is a huge bonus which is also why I get to gather this list of ideas hehe. But, as I jot these down I realized some ideas were actually things I did when I was single (maybe because I am creative in my own right haha kidding), like dining out or doing unique activities – making this list for everyone.

1. Have dinner at a new restaurant

Dinner dates are the most common Valentines day idea. But, I personally love the idea of going to new restaurants on special days. At least there’s that extra reason to try that latest buffet restaurant that open in the nearby mall or hotel, or the promisimg restaurant you read in a blog, or the new French or Japanese or Filipino or Chinese or whatever restaurant people has been raving about.

Tip: if you research enough restaurants do something extra special on occasions like Valentines Day, so you can also take advantage of it. Book early to reserve a table. Again, this is one of those most booked days for restaurants in a year.

2. Pamper day

To celebrate the day of love, why not show some love to your own body as well. Bring your significant other, friend, parents or even go solo and head on to the nearest spa or salon to get some TLC you deserve.

Tip: Book in advance as this is also a popular date for salons and spas. Check for special packages available this Vday too.

3. Be like a kid again

I remember having this unique date of my then boyfriend (now hubby) and I to the Mind Museum. It was still new and we got so curious we ended up having a date there haha. It was so fun! I like kiddie stuff so yeah it was memorable for me. But, it can really also be fun for adults too (even though I must admit I have this thing related to field trips destinations kids usually enjoy hehe).

Tip: There are a lot of places to go like mystery solving establishments, board game lounges, Museums, trampoline parks, and even theme parks.

To be a kid again?! Yes!

4. Go on a quick getaway

How about going to that favorite garden restaurant of yours in Tagaytay?

Or a weekend in Batangas?

Since February 14 will fall on a weekday this year, you can either have a pre or post weekend roadtrip celebration.

Tip: It does not need to be an overnight thing. You can spend one whole day of exploring new things together.

5. Celebrate at the comforts of your home

You can also make the celebration at the comforts of your home really special by the also-popular idea of chilling at home. Honestly, I have not tried which is why I am jotting this down for myself lol.. and planning to do it this year! Shhh on my surprise hehe. You can cook or bake for your loveones and yourself! You can also have a surprise something delivered. But, the flow of ideas doesnt stop there. Make random surprises for your love like cupcake delivery with messages! I am proud to say that I have tried that lol. Thanks to my friend Grace of GQ cupcakes, I was able to give a mushy themed cupcake to my hubby years before hehe. Nothing big maybe just some of his/her favorite things.

How about the good old balloons or flowers to be  delivered at home.

Tip: Be creative. Think of something your significant other love and take it from there. Or maybe you can send some sweets to your doorstep for him/her.

Any ideas you want to share? I would love to know them!

Happy Love Month everyone! ❤️

Great tips for Valentines Day. I think surprising the other is most important. As well as showing your love maybe in words. It doesn’t have to be expensive. It’s about the feeling from within.

Excellent tips. We combined pampering and dinner this year. I’d love to have nice getaways for Valentine’s but my employer doesn’t offer Valentine’s break haha! 🙂 Well, if it happens to be weekend some year maybe we can have nice giveaway in somewhere romantic! 🙂

These are indeed romantic and fun Valentine’s Day ideas. We spent February 14 at home doing our usual things. My mom brought home real nice treats. She brought home a big bilao of Spaghetti (which is my boys’ favorite), a box of pichi pichi and a big tub of buko pandan. Husband and I were suppose to have a date at a Javanese restaurant but the traffic was horrible that we missed our reservation. It was somehow frustrating but then with good food waiting at home, my frustration drifted.

Hi Momi Berlin! That was a special Valentines too! Sometimes spending it at home makes it more special – not to mention having less stress hehe.

Sadly, my Valentine’s Day was spent at work and then the gym this year…but it’s always nice to see great ideas for future options. My cousin actually had a cute idea this year that he called the “14 Days of Love” with little surprises each day that led up to Valentine’s Day for his wife.
