Portland Day Tour

Portland is not a huge city like other cities in the US. But, it’s neighborhood, artsy, and unique feel made us fall in love with the place. Our trip was unplanned. We were spending a night at Seattle when we just suddenly decide to go to the not-so-nearby Portland since it is just a few hours away via I-5 highway.

Our last visit was last November and it was still Autumn. I love how the colors of the season seem to partner well with the city’s vibe. Walking along Chapman Square, with all the fall colors, is just one of the beautiful things we did. One lady we met said we arrived at a gorgeous day!

People are friendly. They readily give suggestions where to eat and voluntarily taking us picture around downtown upon learning we are tourists.

Foodtrucks! Food trucks are famous in Portland with almost every corner accessible to one around town. From Middleeastet to American food.. there are a lot of choices available.
We had lunch at Jake’s Grill. Almost everyone suggested to head for lunch here. There are two Jake’s Grill – one famouse for seafood and one for steaks (the newer one) . Since we are just near the latter when we got hungry, we decided to dine there. Food was good, I can say.

There are a lot of cafe’s, ice cream shops, and artsy corners around. Who can miss the Portland streetcar? This is also known as a common means of transportation here.

I like the colors of the autumn, as this is my favorite season of the year… Portland sounds really interesting, I have never been to the USA. I would like you to have posted more pics of the area! None the less, this ice cream looks so yummy!

Chapman square looks pretty neat and tidy along with being so less crowded. Looks like a peaceful place to roam around. The way the dish from Jake’s Grill is decorated, I’m sure the food must have been great. I quite like the concept of artsy corners they really liven up the surroundings with color. Lastly, chocolate ice cream’s my favorite 🙂

Looking at your photos, it seems Portland is such a beautiful place to spend time with a loved one or even alone. The streets and parks seem too friendly even when you’re on your own. I imagine myself communing with nature and enjoying my solitude there. I wish to travel there , perhaps in the near future when the kids are all grown up and can be left at home without supervision.

Looks like you had loads of fun. I agree. From the photos, I can see a beautiful section of the city and those leaves… isn’t it nice to see them on the streets? It’s not the mess but more because it reminds me of what autumn looks like. I believe this is the first time I read up on Portland. Previously, all I know about Portland was the NBA team.

I want to go to Portland because I hear they have an amazing coffee scene. Actually my husband’s favorite specialty coffee brand Stumptown Roasters is based there, one of the reasons I wanted to visit this town, too. Plus, it looks like it has that hip, SanFo vibe in a way! I wonder when I’ll find myself here? Soon, hopefully!
