Last Sunday, we decided to go back to Le Petit Souffle to try the Kinoko Frites (mushroom made appetizer). While having an earlier food trip in the south (of Manila) on Saturday night. my friend Fiel texted me about how delish the Kinoko Frites is. In an earlier post, you know how addicted my husband is to mushroom fries. And because we just have to go to Century Mall to try some, we decided to drop by the following day to try it.
Le Petit Souffle is one of the instagrammable restaurants in Makati with Chef Miko Aspiras (of Scout’s Honor) as one of the owners. They have a unique type of cuisin which is French-Japanese. We had a few visits previously for their souffle’. This visit was different, it is because of their Kinoko Frites (Php 235) which we never tried before. For those who really know me, I am a hot choco lover. So yes, I also craved for their hot choco – Valrhona hot chocolate (Guanaja).
While waiting for our orders, ofcourse I took some Insta story videos and pics of the place. Tip: their souffle’ is prepared for 25 minutes so I have ample time to do this and savor the other orders first. Lol.
So, our Kinoko Frites finally arrived. Our verdict? Yes, we agree! It is yummy! Kinoko Frites is made of Enoki and Oyster mushrooms as mentioned my friend and also shared by the food server. It comes with Japanese mayo which made it more flavorful. It is that good that we ordered for another one. Haha. *covers mouth*
After sharing the appetizer with my husband, my Valrhona finally arrived. The hot chocolate is pricier than the average at Php 230 per cup. But, it is really good and chocolate is thick enough to give this full, more than satisfying taste.
And the souffle’! It did not disappoint as usual. In fact, it will make you crave for the next visit haha. We ordered the best seller (and my personal favorite) Valrhona Guanaja (Php 350). Obviously, I like chocolates dark.
