Grouse Mountain

Our family went to Grouse Mountain for a short trip. It is just a short drive from the city. We visited Whistler last winter during the last time we went to Vancouver. So, Grouse was definitely in our list this time. It’s still fall at the mountain. No snow in sight. The place is popular during winter.  But, we were still amazed with the view! The overlooking Vancity view is just breathtaking.

What else could better? Well, I can say having lunch with the view is! We requested to be seated near the window so it is superb! The Altitude restaurant have reasonable serving sizes of delicious food to share with price range from 15 to 30 CAD per average dish. We personally loved the Nachos. 😊 They say celebrating the New Years Eve at Altitude (and get their NYE package) is a great idea. The price varies per year though.

We roam around the place and just purchased the Alpine experience for CAD 44 per adult which includes the Alpine experience or the Skygondola ride (the ride going to and from the mountain) and Plateau activities.

One of the activities is the Grizzly Lookout. This is where you’ll meet Coola and Grinder, your favorite Grouse Mountain Bears. Did you know they stuff theirselves (yes I mean food!)  in Autumn to prepare for the Winter hibernation ?

For more information about the tours , check the Grouse Mountain Website .

Woaaaah. There are bears!! I’ve never seen one up so close even in photos. It’s really a great adventure to see those. I really wish that there are grizzly bears here in the Philippines. I really do not know if there are bears in the zoos in the Philippines. But taking trips during winter must be fun!

Wow, 44cad for the entire alpine experience, not bad, totally not bad. I would be so ecstatic if I saw a bear in person! Just seeing the size representation on the wall just shows how huge these fluffy animals are. I’m gonna see them someday, soon. I’ll save it in the books 🙂

Those views from that altitude restaurant are very nice! 🙂 And that “how big you’re compared to a bear” sign is very funny! I’m sure that little version of me would have loved it. Visiting a place full of bears would have though been a little scary. Thanks for sharing your experience!

Meeting the bears face to face is also one of the reasons why I enjoyed our trip here 🙂

Grouse Mountain is so pretty! I went there when I was in Vancouver a couple of years ago, but I didn’t eat at the restaurant. It looks tasty! I did meet Coola and Grinder, and how nice to see them again! Our guide told us when we went there that one of them had recently eaten someone’s cell phone!

Yay! Glad you were also able to meet Coola and Grinder 🙂 Woah they ate someone’s cellphone?!

Grouse Mountain looks really nice and the Altitude restaurant sounds very yummy. I could eat those nachos right now without any problems. My country has a lot of brown bears roaming wild but I have never seen a Grizzly bear before (not sure I want to meet one in the woods either). It’s great that you can learn more about bears at the Alpine Experience.

Personal meeting with the bear will be quite scary for me. But I will be glad if ever I’ll have the experience. And those nachos looks like pizza. Would love to try one.

My sister is in Canada for almost 2 years now but I never noticed that she has photos of this place. I should probably tell her to visit Grouse Mountain. She is into photography also and Im sure she will love this place. The food at Altitude looks delicious, I guess it’s a must try when you visit Grouse Mountain, right? How was the food?

Yes! She should 🙂 Not sure if she’ll enjoy it more during winter though. Food is great! We only tried appetizers though 🙂

It looks like a wonderful experience. First of all the food looks amazing. I could totally eat it. But visiting this place must be more exciting than just a great food experience. Love the pictures!
